Liquid Ceramic^® is a ceramic-based, permanent coating for your home or other building.  Seventy percent of the product that we apply to your home stays on your home (the other thirty percent is environmentally friendly, water based compounds that evaporate into the atmosphere).  Compare that to "regular paint," where only thirty percent of the product stays on your home and seventy percent floats away in the air.  What you end up buying is what stays on your home.

By "permanent," we mean that you'll probably never have to paint your house again.  Webster's American Dictionary defines "permanent" as "lasting or intended to last indefinitely or for a relatively long time."

Many companies promise you'll never paint again, but be aware of companies making OUTRAGEOUS CLAIMS about their product.  If it’s too good to be true, it probably is, regardless of what the salesman will tell you.  Nothing is "forever."  If the manufacturer tells you it is, ask to read "the small print."

Liquid Ceramic^® replaces "old fashioned paint" in that:

• It's NOT a paint -- it's a 100% acrylic based polymer that contains ceramic microspheres (hollow cenospheres that coat your home like a zillion insulated "thermos bottles"), ceramic strands and powders. It's waterproof, yet it has the highest known breathability rate in the industry. 
   

• It provides three times the thermal flow reduction, as measured in BTU's, as compared to ordinary house paint. 

• Is less expensive over time than traditional paint.

• It will not crack, peel, chip or chalk.

Ceramic technology was enhanced through NASA's space program and used as heat-protective tiles on rockets and most recently, the space shuttle.  This inspiration lead a Canadian coatings and paint manufacturer to the development of an exterior home coating that gave great protection from the severely cold temperatures, high wind and rain of the Pacific Northwest. Such testing in inclement weather proved it had superior bonding capabilities.  Many homes and buildings in the Vancouver, British Columbia area have had this product on their exteriors for over 25 years.  If this product is resistant in that climate, it's resistant just about anywhere.

Why the bouncing basketball?

Liquid Ceramic^® is highly resistant to water penetration but yet it allows vapor to pass through at an astounding rate of 20 perms!  The basketball image is a way for us to explain it.  On our Breatheability page we use the image to demonstrate the size relationship of water as a liquid (the basketball) and water as a vapor (the grape) in a direct ratio of 1,600:1(water - vapor : water - liquid). 

The openings in the mesh represent the micro-pore structure of the Liquid Ceramic^® membrane.  The pores are so fine that they do not let water pass through, yet they allow vapor to easily migrate through the coating. 

How expensive is it?

Liquid Ceramic^® application typically costs two to three times the cost of an ordinary paint job.  However, the higher upfront cost can certainly be justified because you may never have to paint your house again.

Is it available in different colors?

Liquid Ceramic^® can be professionally tinted to virtually any fade resistant color.  Accent colors are available for your trim as well.

What surfaces will it cover?

Liquid Ceramic^® will bond to just about every surface imaginable!  Every type of wood, including stained cedar, masonite, vinyl, aluminum and brick surfaces have been coated with excellent results.
