PERFORMANCE
Z Best™ PRIMER-SEALER is an ultra premium, high performance, 100% styrene acrylic universal primer and sealer designed to provide superior hiding and sealing properties. It is a versatile product recommended for interior and exterior applications on a variety of new and old surfaces. The product has low VOC and low odor. Its low VOC qualifies it for use on LEED Certified projects. It is highly alkali resistant and efflorescence resistant and can be applied to surfaces with a pH of 6 to 13.
USES
Exterior Surfaces: Apply to new or previously coated concrete, stucco, cement block, masonry, brick, wood trim & doors, wood siding, vinyl siding, fiber cement siding, EIFS exterior wall cladding, and aluminum.
Interior Surfaces: Apply to new or previously coated drywall, plaster, acoustical tile, fresh or cured stucco or concrete cement block, wood trim & doors.
SURFACE PREPARATION
- Remove Loose Paint: Multi-coat peeling can be caused by adhesion failure in older paints. Remove all loose, peeling paint to provide a sound surface. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. For application on concrete, remove all form release and curing agents.
- Wash and Rinse: Wash surfaces to be coated with TSP Substitute solution to eliminate dirt and solution of bleach and water to eliminate mildew. Rinse with water. Prime all unpainted metal.
- Patch: Patch all holes with spackling compound and seal cracks with siliconized crack filler. New Surfaces: Let new concrete or stucco cure for at least 7 days prior to coating with Z Best™ PRIMER-SEALER.
NOTE: Do not add mineral spirits or other solvents to this primer. Do not apply when surface or air temperature is below 50°F. Do not expose to freezing temperatures in storage. Do not use on unpainted ferrous metal. Do not use on stained woods such as cedar, mahogany, or redwood.
APPLICATION
Stir thoroughly before applying Z Best™ PRIMER-SEALER with brush, roller or sprayer. Apply generously with a full brush or roller and avoid excessive brushing or spreading too thinly. If you use a roller, we recommend a synthetic cover. COVERAGE: One gallon covers up to 450 square feet (42m2/g) on smooth surfaces; up to 300 square feet (28m2/g) on rough, porous or textured surfaces. DRYING TIME: To Touch: 1 hr.- To Recoat: 2hrs. CLEAN UP: Use warm, soapy water immediately.
CAUTION
Harmful if swallowed. Contains Acrylic Resin. In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water. Do not rub eyes. In case of skin contact, flush area immediately with clean water. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. CONSULT A PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. Adequate ventilation required when sanding or abrading the dried film. Always use (NIOSH/MSHA TC21C respirator or equivalent). Goggles are recommended while handling the product. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a NEPA vacuum and a wet mop.
